Oakwell Hall wedding venue is a location I’ve photographed a few times now and each is very different. Having the Hall for ceremonies allows good use of the traditional hall, while across the way, the wedding reception barn means each couple can tailor and style the day to suit what works for them.

The morning of the wedding Sophie and Donal both got ready at a hotel just down the road, which meant that I could pop and see them both getting ready. The guys headed over to Oakwell Hall Barn to put the finishing touches together before the service. Meanwhile, Sophie and the bridesmaids were picked up by Sophies cousin in his awesome split screen VW Camper. Plenty of rustic details, stickers, and character to arrive in.

The light in the Oakwell Hall is always lovely, flooding in from the big windows on the right-hand side. Being friends with a local Orchestra, Sophie was welcomed down the aisle as they performed from the balcony above.  Following the service we headed out to the walled gardens for confetti and bubbles, then while the guests walked over to the Barn we popped back inside the Hall for some photos.

Over in the Barn, it was time for some tasty Mexican. Sophie and Donal added loads of personal details to the space making. There were little baby succulents for favours/name settings, custom wine bottle labels featuring their friendly Greyhound Harvey. Sophies brother works over at Black sheep brewery so the bar had to be filled with their tasty beers on cask and keg. Following on from some emotional and funny speeches, including a surprise congratulations card from Harvey!  As the evening progressed they took to the dance floor for the first dance before everyone else joined in and partied the night away.
