Rachel and Kyle picked a cracking day to get married near the North Yorkshire coast of Scarborough. The couple hired Minniehaha Events, Scalby Lodge Farmhouse, which is a great versatile space with loads of opportunities to put your own personal stamp on.
Getting ready in separate barns the couple set off early doors, with a small selection of close family and friends to tie the knot officially in Scarborough registry office. Rachel wearing a lovely blue dress that complimented the men’s accessories and ran throughout the decor during the rest of the day’s festivities. Heading back to the farmhouse the couple separated and spent the rest of the morning relaxing and drinking with their friends before the wedding part 2 kicked off!
Rachel changed into her second dress of the day, with a small hair change, and she was ready to go and do it all again, this time with a much bigger crowd. Kyle was patiently waiting at the bottom of the aisle as Rachel descended the barn steps whilst their friends and family looked on from the mezzanine balcony and the lower barn floor. The couple decided on a humanist ceremony which worked perfectly in the space and was a lovely upbeat start to the festivities.
Leaving the barn their guests threw a confetti tunnel which made for some great shots. E1verybody wandered around the ace Minniehaha events Barn & Tipi, Caravan and Bar, helping themselves to some Pimms and Punk IPA along the way.
After capturing some relaxed documentary style photos of the guests enjoying themselves, everybody sat down ready for their dinner of sharing platters and eagerly awaited the speeches. Whilst everyone was tucking into their food I managed to get a proper look at the incredible cake table. All made by Rachel it consisted of, Chocolate brownies, Carrot cake, Vanilla and Guinness cake and some Lemon cupcakes, finished with some decoration that Mary Berry would be proud of.
Heading back outside to enjoy the early September sun, what better way to wash your dinner down than a few shots?! After playing some outdoor games and enjoying the photobooth we decided to jump in my car and head for some portraits by the coast, the light was beautiful and having the sea in the distance was just the perfect backdrop on such a clear day.
Getting back in time for more shots, the band welcomed everybody onto the dancefloor and kicked off the fun for the evening, lots more dancing and drinks were consumed before I left the busy dancefloor, and the happy couple, to enjoy the remainder of their night.
