When Rachel & Ian got in touch to talk wedding photography they mentioned that they were living in Philadephia. Amazing, I love to shoot destination weddings and have never been to Philadephia! Yet, the plan was to head back to the UK and get married closer to the family home in North Yorkshire. Still, getting married at Rudby Hall was a cracking idea. Rudby Hall is a grand building with tons of character, large grounds, plenty of space and room for the ceremony and reception. Rudby Hall has plenty of flexibility for Rachel and Ian to add their own stylish stamp to the day. Not an easy task from the the USA, but they got it spot on, with plenty of help and support from the family of course.
Rachel & Ian wanted the day to be about catching up and celebrating with friends and family. What better time to catch up than their wedding day? Rachel totally rocked her stunning lace champagne dress from Modeca. It contrasted perfectly with Ian’s blue three-piece Hugo Boss suit. It’s the details that make it personal, and it doesn’t have to mean seat covers! They exited the ceremony soundtracked by non other than the theme to Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
With trivial pursuit on the tables, it was a perfect ice breaker for those that didn’t know each other. While everyone was taking their seats, we made the most of the autumnal sun, taking some time in the gardens for some portraits.
The speeches were filled with great stories, jokes and a slight bit of heckling from Ian’s sisters. Post wedding breakfast and speeches everyone made the most of the space around Rudby hall to chat and catch up before the evening kicked off with the first dance. Rachel & Ian had pulled together a selection of props for a photobooth which pretty soon ended up on the dance floor.
If you’re getting married in Rudby Hall, North Yorkshire, or even Philadephia get in touch to chat about you’re plans.
